The necessity of the Town of Windsor to change their billing cycles from a calendar year to a fiscal year (July 1st through June 30th) will cause several changes to the billing of owners of real estate in the town.
Previously, real estate taxes had been billed at the end of the calendar year for that year’s taxes. In the future, taxes will be billed for at the end of the fiscal year with an expected due date in June.
This first year of the change will cause for the billing of six months’ worth of real estate taxes with a June 7, 2021 due date, as we transition to the new cycle; with future years being billed for 12 months of taxes due each June.
Personal property taxes will remain unchanged and will continue to have a due date in December, which will separate the two tax due dates by six months to help with budgeting. We apologize for any inconvenience that this change may cause and appreciate your patience as we try to streamline processes for billing.
